A devastating blow for the people affected.
JOE.ie has been sent an email from the owners of Cromleach Lodge Hotel in Sligo confirming that it can not repay deposits it has received for upcoming weddings, following its closure last week.
Over 100 couples are believed to have been affected.
In the email – sent to us by someone who wishes to remain anonymous – the hotel outlines how it was forced suddenly to cease trading after a meeting with officials from Revenue last week.
The email closes with, “Funshinagh Ltd. unfortunately does not have any funds to refund deposits. We are unsure as yet if a liquidator will be appointed due to a lack of assets, this is something that our accountant is looking into at present. It is unlikely.”
