Dave Hanratty

Hatches. Batten ’em down.

Met Éireann has updated an earlier Status Yellow rain warning for six counties, expanding it to the entire country and adding in some thunderstorms to the mix Happy Sunday!

According to the forecaster, heavy rain along with a few thunderstorms will spread northwards over Ireland.

Lightning and spot flooding are also anticipated in different areas across the country.

The warning is valid from 7pm on Sunday (4 September) and will remain in place until 3am on Monday (5 September).

Elsewhere, an overall weather advisory is valid until Monday evening at 7pm, with “wet and windy weather” in the mix that may cause notable disruption if it hasn’t yet already.
