It’s a case of ‘better the devil you know.’
Ted Cruz has finally endorsed Donald Trump to be the next President of the United States.
Cruz fought with Trump, and eventually lost out, for the Republican nomination and drew criticism when he failed to endorse the businessman during the Republican National Convention in July.
He has now relented, saying that he will fulfill his promise to vote for Trump as voting for Hillary Clinton would be ‘wholly unacceptable.’
“This election is unlike any other in our nation’s history. Like many other voters, I have struggled to determine the right course of action in this general election,” his statement read.
“After months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.”
