Tragic news.
A 17-year-old boy has died following a workplace accident at a premises in Cavan.
In a statement to JOE, a Garda spokesperson confirmed that the incident occurred on Thursday afternoon (13 June) shortly after 4.30pm.
The teenager was pronounced deceased at the scene and his body has been taken to the mortuary in Cavan.
A post-mortem will be conducted and a file will be prepared for the Coroner’s Court.
The Health and Safety Authority have been notified of the death.

“Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a fatal workplace accident at a premises in Cavan on Thursday afternoon, 13th June 2024 shortly after 4.30pm.
“A 17-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in Cavan. A post-mortem will take place in due course.
“The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) have been notified. A file will be prepared for the Coroner’s Court.”
