Teenager left in critical condition after horror e-scooter accident

The accident took place in Kerry on Saturday evening.

Gardaí are appealing for information following a serious road traffic incident in Kerry.

The accident involving an e-scooter took place on Saint Brendan’s Road in Tralee yesterday evening (Saturday).

A man in his late teens was discovered at the scene with serious injuries at approximately 6.30pm.

The man was taken to University Hospital Kerry where his condition is described as critical.

He was traveling on an e-scooter at the time of the crash. It is not known whether any other vehicle was involved in the accident.

The scene of the incident on Saint Brendan’s Road remains preserved for examination.

A statement from a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic incident that occurred on Saint Brendan’s Road in Tralee, County Kerry on Saturday evening, 7th December 2024.

“A man (aged in his late teens) who was travelling on an e-scooter was discovered with serious injuries on the road. The incident occurred at approximately 6.30pm.

“Any road users or pedestrians who were in the area between 6.00pm and 7.00pm and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available,” the statement read.
