Luas drivers have voted to accept Labour Court recommendations on their pay deal, ending months of industrial disputes at the company.
The vote to accept the deal went through by 108 to 56 with Transdev, the company that runs the Luas system, also agreeing to the terms of the deal.
“The recommendation contains improved terms in relation to the link between productivity and pay increases that will amount to between 15.6 per cent to 18.3 per cent between now and September 2020,” Siptu divisional organiser, Owen Reidy, is reported to have said in The Irish Times.
“We are pleased with the outcome of the ballot. This vote by employees in favour of the Labour Court Recommendation is positive news,” Transdev managing director Gerry Madden added.
“The agreement will allow all of us to concentrate on once again delivering the very best Luas service for our customers and also preparing for the next exciting development in Luas Cross City.”
