60 armed gardaí are on the scene.

The Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) are, this morning, conducting a number of searches in residential and commercial properties in Crumlin.

According to RTÉ, the searches, which commenced at 7am, are part of an investigation into organised crime in the capital, with well known criminals as well as business properties like accountancy, solicitor and car dealership firms in the west of Dublin being targeted.

It is believed that the CAB’s investigation is involving those connected with David Byrne, who was infamously killed in the Regency Hotel in Dublin in February.
