According to RTÉ, staff have turned down a pay rise which works out at an 18% increase over less than three years.
Discussions have been taking place between Transdev – the Luas operator – and Siptu in the Workplace Relations Commission, but no agreement has been reached, as yet.
Thousands of people are set to be impacted over the Easter weekend, with the dispute likely to continue for some time.
