If you think that the debates in the Dáil were boring, check out the effect that a speech by UK had on the rest of the House of Lordzzzzz recently.
While houses of government often stage debates of great concern and great relevance in countries throughout the world, they are also regularly the scene of more inconsequential matters that often fail to capture the interest of many of those in attendance, never mind the interest of a wider audience.
That was obviously the case in the House of Lords in recent days as three members of the house were caught rotten on camera flat out asleep while one of their contemporaries in close attendance was in the middle of what mustn’t have been a very rousing speech.

Next time, they’ll know to take some advice from the book of Homer Simpson and ensure that they won’t get caught out in similar fashion in the future.
