They’re not watering down the laughs.
Now that the national hosepipe band is in effect, we’re wondering if there’s going to be a crack team of Gardaí established to monitor the water usage of every single person in Ireland.
On a serious note, anyone caught in breach of the regulation could potentially be fined or arrested, but we’re curious how this whole thing is going to be monitored and regulated?
Well, as stated in Section 56 (16) of the Water Services Act 2007, a member of the Gardaí can arrest and fine any individual that’s found to be in breach of this rule but like everyone in Ireland, we’re extremely curious to see how this whole thing will unravel.
This being said, the Gardaí are aware of the potential of a new wave of crime emerging from these new regulations.
We reckon that the Garda Hosepipe Unit is able to rise above everything that they face and wash way any potential threats to law and order. Long may they rain reign.

Gardaí are now treating this as a possible car wash incident. We are appealing for anyone who may have seen "Hose Pipe" to come forward.
