The actions of Luis Suarez yesterday were a gold mine for headline writers, but the Guardian Sport section is the clear winner.
Chewy Suarez, Gnash of the Day, Getting his teeth in; Luis Suarez’ nibble on the arm of Branislav Ivanovic yesterday meant bonanza time for headline writers. There’s just so much to work with that it is no surprise that today’s papers are full of quality stuff at the Liverpool striker’s expense.
But the clear winner is the Guardian. Their Sport section today has one of the best front pages we’ve seen in ages.
Tweeted by one of their journos, Jacob Steinberg, it is clever, funny and covers all aspects of yesterday’s game and the possible repercussions for the player and the club. Using just three words it is pretty bloody clever so hats off to them.
