The last few weeks have been incredibly tough for JT McNamara and his family and one 2FM listener was keen to show support with a very touching gesture towards the paralysed jockey.
McNamara was left fighting for his life after falling from Galaxy Rock during the third day of the Cheltenham Festival last month and subsequently discovered that he was paralysed from the neck down after fracturing two vertebrae in his back.
The world of horse racing has rallied in support of the popular jockey since the accident and Michael O’Leary donated €200,000 to a JT McNamara fund on Irish Grand National Day earlier this month.
A listener to the Hector O Heochagáin show on 2FM was also keen to show support for the 37-year old, sending in a very touching letter to the Meath man with €100 attached, evidence of which Hector posted on Twitter earlier today.

As he says himself, there are still a lot of decent people in Ireland.
