There is no end to how great Chris Hadfield is. He even likes, and played, a bit of rugby.
From his obvious love of this little island to the fantastic pictures he sent to us from the ISS to his epic cover of Space Oddity, it is safe to say Chris Hadfield has an awful lot of Irish fans.
And now he has probably made a few more as he might be making an appearance at an Irish rugby game this summer. The Canadian astronaut is back at NASA after his long stint in space and today he tweeted about the medical procedures he was undergoing.
The IRFU, for some reason, took this as a chance to tweet Hadfield and ask if he would be in Houston on June 8 when Ireland play the USA.
Not only did the astronaut reply, he also sounded like he might pop along and he admitted that he played a bit of rugby in his university days.

The IRFU got back with an idea for about the only photo Hadfield didn’t take from space.

If the world’s favourite spaceman does show up at the game it will be a bit of a coup from a PR point of view for the IRFU.
