Customers can now spend double the amount on contactless transactions in pubs and shops after the limit was increased to €30.
From today, the limit has been increased from the previous €15 limit.
According to Irish Examiner, Lorraine Peters of Permanent TSB believes that the move will be welcomed by banking customers across the country.
“Customers of all the banks are really taking to contactless payments. We have seen 2 million contactless transactions on cards since we introduced the facility six months ago and we believe that this number will increase significantly now that the amount you can pay for by this method is increasing.”
Do you think this will be a success?
