Kicking off RTE’s 1916 centenary commemorations last night was a special programme entitled ‘Ireland’s Call,’ a joint broadcast between RTE’s Prime Time and Nolan Live on BBC Northern Ireland.
Jimmy Deenihan certainly won’t forget it in a hurry anyway, that’s for sure.
Ahead of the programme, a survey had been specially commissioned to seek the views of over 2,000 people from north and south of the border on attitudes towards a United Ireland amongst other things.
The results, as you’ll see below, are quite interesting.

The survey shows, for example, that support for a United Ireland is far stronger south of the border than it is in the north, while the issue of tax has a significant influence on people’s views.
The survey also posed questions about attitudes to abortion and marrying someone of the same gender or a different skin colour; you can see the results in full here.
