The weekend weather forecast is here and it’s not bad at all

Conor Heneghan

Highs of 17 degrees in places.

Sunny spells throughout the country gave Ireland a taste of summer this week and we revelled in the chance to spend some time outside without getting soaked or having to wear layer upon layer to keep warm.

Thankfully, according to Met Eireann, the dry weather looks set to hang around for the majority of the weekend but it’s going to feel colder than normal for late April, with maximum temperatures of 12-13 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.

Friday is a little bit more promising with highs of 17 degrees in parts of Munster and south Connacht, while rain showers will be isolated on Friday night and across the weekend and will be mostly felt in parts of the north and northeast.

It’s going to be cold on Friday and Saturday night with temperatures set to hover around the freezing mark, with cool but dry weather forecast until the middle of next week.

Nothing spectacular but nothing disastrous either; at this stage, we’ll take it.
