This would make an enormous difference if implemented.
A new affordable rental scheme will aim to assist young workers in Ireland’s cities find residence closer to where they work.
According to The Independent, €10 million has been set aside in order to pay 30% of the rents of young workers who would otherwise not be able to afford housing close to where they work.
While the Housing Agency will decide on key criteria, the scheme is primarily aimed at key workers such as newly-qualified Gardaí and nurses who would otherwise struggle to afford rent in a city like Dublin. The scheme will also exclude those on waiting lists for social housing.

This will be music to ears of young people who are looking to rent in the near future. It’s almost as if there is an election coming up or something. Eh? Eh?
