Tipperary hurler throws his support behind a No vote in the Referendum

Kieran Bergin believes marriage should remain between a man and a woman

Tipperary hurler Kieran Bergin has thrown his support behind a No vote in the upcoming referendum on Marriage Equality.

In a leaflet advocating a No vote posted to Twitter by Ciarán Lyng, a quote attributed to Bergin states: “I’m voting No! Marriage can only be the union of a man and a woman.”

Bergin’s stance is not reflective of the ideals of many of his fellow players, with the Gaelic Players Association recently aligning themselves with the Yes campaign in the upcoming vote on May 22nd.
