The Twitter feeds of most men will be clogged up with transfer deadline day information and we couldn’t overlook a little light-hearted fun at Liverpool’s expense.
Last night, the Reds allowed Andy Carroll to go out on loan to West Ham only a year and a half after shelling out £35 million on the ponytailed one, as Brendan Rodgers continues to do his best to show contempt for the players that arrived under Kenny Dalglish’s watch.
The decision to let Carroll leave is one of a number of rather bizarre transfer-related stories on Anfield in recent seasons and there were a few witty rogues on Twitter such as Dave Beeston queuing up to suggest what moves might be made on Merseyside before the deadline later tonight.

Before some sensitive Liverpool fans take offence at what is obviously a preposterous suggestion, it should be pointed out that Dave himself is a Reds supporter and it’s good to be able to take the mick out of yourself every now and again.
It was never his fault in the first place, but Big Andy will never live that price tag down, will he?
