The Mayor of Newark, New Jersey Cory Booker is having a tough time of it at the moment with Sandy fallout, but still had time to have a joke with an Irish Twitter user.
Booker is pretty popular in New Jersey having had a joke-feud with talkshow host Conan O’Brien, personally shovelling a constituent’s driveway and saving another from a burning building.
Recently he has been inviting people affected by the superstorm that hit his district around to his house to watch DVDs and is doing an all round good job helping victims of Sandy.
Besides all that he is also showing his support for Barack Obama this Election Day, so needless to say he is a busy man with a lot on his plate.
Irishman based in Dublin Lee Daly jokingly tweeted the superman/mayor to ask if he could help fix a pothole, prompting this exchange and inspired response:
So he’s an awesome Mayor, still has a sense of humour despite recent hardship and is a Jay-Z fan? Could somebody find out if he has an Irish grandmother quick so that when his term as Mayor of Newark ends we can get him to run for Taoiseach?!
