Two memorial services are taking place this week for Irish student Karen Buckley

Colm Boohig

This week marks the first anniversary of Karen Buckley’s death.

There will be two memorial services held this week, one in Scotland and one in Ireland, for Cork student Karen Buckley.

Friends of the 24-year-old, as well as fellow students from the School of Health and Life Services at the Glasgow Caledonian University, will congregate on Tuesday (April 12) to pay their respects.

Following that service abroad, another remembrance service is set to take place on Friday (April 15) in the hometown of Karen Buckley – Mourneabbey, in Cork.

Buckley was murdered after being abducted outside of a Glasgow nightclub, causing a huge search operation by Scottish police.
