Thanks to his little stumble, the police’s chances of identifying the culprit have increased.
Police in Belfast are appealing for information following the robbery of an off-license on the Ormeau Road in the city on Sunday, 15 February.
The PSNI uploaded CCTV footage of the robbery which shows the robber – who was armed with a knife – slip and fall and grapple with a customer in the store before taking money out of the till and exiting seconds later.
The robber’s hat and sunglasses came off during his fall, providing a clear view of his face as he struggled to get them back on again before proceeding to take money out of the till.

Detective Constable Tracey Blair has appealed for help from the public and is quoted in the Belfast Telegraph as saying: “It was raining heavily outside and when the male entered the shop he slipped and fell on the floor with a female customer causing his hat and sunglasses to fall off thus allowing a clear unobstructed view of his face.
“I would appeal any member of public who was present in the off license at the time of the robbery to contact police as they may be able to assist with the investigation.
“I would also ask people to look at this footage carefully to see if they can identify the suspect and to contact CID Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101 or anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
