Donald Trump believes that his supporters are so devoted to him and his campaign, that if he was to “shoot somebody” on Fifth Avenue, he wouldn’t lose any voters.
“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters,” Trump proclaimed at a campaign event in Iowa.
As if that statement wasn’t quite enough, he made a gun sign with his hand to make sure that nobody misinterpreted what he said.
Trump made the comments to his supporters to contrast them to other Republican candidate’s supporters but with the number of mass shootings in the last year in America (there were 373 in 2015 alone), it seems like a tasteless comment to make.
