VIDEO: Donegal Independent candidate attacks government in hilarious campaign song

Conor Heneghan

The song by itself is nearly worth a vote.

Enda Kenny today confirmed that he will be announcing a General Election tomorrow, so for the next few weeks, expect to be bombarded with all sorts of election paraphernalia until the day we visit the ballot boxes.

Tim Jackson, an Independent candidate for Donegal, has got in early by releasing a campaign song via his Facebook page, which, appropriately enough, goes to the tune of Jackson, a song made famous by Johnny Cash (it’s not a Johnny Cash original) back in the 1960s.

Recorded by Starmix, the song promotes Jackson as a candidate but doesn’t hold back in its criticism of the current government, with lines such as ‘We’re voting for Jackson, we’ve had enough of those clowns.

Carlsberg don't do campaign songs, but if they did…Full marks to the 'Starmix' band for putting this together 😉

That’s just one line from a song that’s actually quite catchy and entertaining and could be the small thing that influences a floating voter when it comes to the crunch.

Expect plenty more of where this came from in the next month or so.
