Wow.
The selfie craze might be getting a little tiresome for some at this stage and a timelapse video featuring dozens of selfies of the same person wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but we guarantee you’ll be moved by what Irishman Alan Crowley created using that method after he was the victim of an unprovoked assault three years ago.
Alan was socialising in a bar in Dublin when a pint glass was smashed across his face in a drunken assault that resulted in the perpetrator being sentenced to 30 months in prison for his actions.
Alan had been using the iPhone app Everyday to take photos of himself at the time of the assault but rather than stop doing so after suffering quite horrendous wounds to his face, he continued to do so as he provided physical evidence of his remarkable recovery from the attack and from plastic surgery afterwards.
Alan made the video and uploaded it to YouTube over two years ago, but it has been making waves once again of late having been picked up by sites in the US such as Buzzfeed and also as far away as Australia in recent days.
It was remarkably brave of Alan to continue to take portraits of himself despite going through such a terrible experience and the video illustrates the incredible recovery he’s undergone since the incident.
Amazing.
