JOE reader Nicola Nolan has sent us in this video featuring her younger brother Stephen surprising their mam down on the beach at Rush, Co. Dublin.
Stephen had told his mammy that he wouldn’t be able to make it home in time for a family wedding via a YouTube video and in it, he says: “Unfortunately I won’t make it home for the wedding, but if I start swimming now maybe I’ll get their on time”.
So Stephen runs off into the Indian Ocean and that’s the end of the video… but it’s not the end of our story.
Nicola had driven her mam down to the beach at Rush to show her the video and when it finishes Stephen starts running up the beach in what has to be one of the nicest home-coming surprises we’ve ever seen.
In case you’re wondering, Stephen would have had to swim 15,443.3km to get from Australia to Rush beach. We were curious, so we looked it up. You’re welcome…
