Scary stuff from Louisiana…
Maybe it’s just the advent of the internet age but we don’t recall hearing much about sinkholes until a few years ago. Now, hardly a week goes by without some gaping wound opening up in the earth, trying to swallow anything it can.
That said, this latest video of a sinkhole in action is the scariest one we’ve ever seen. Shot in a place called Assumption Parish in Louisiana, it shows a large number of trees disappearing in just a few seconds.

The cause of the sinkhole in this case was a salt mining company, who drilled into a massive salt dome which is now collapsing, causing these large holes to appear. The state is suing the company involved.
