The A-list stars Christoph Waltz and Daniel Auteuil had to be rushed off a stage in Cannes tonight after ‘gunshots’ were heard on the main thoroughfare.
According to reports, the incident occurred just before a live television broadcast from the Martinez beach and some witnesses say they saw a man with a gun.
One told The Hollywood Reporter, “I thought I heard them say, ‘Run, he has a gun’”.

Both Christoph Waltz and Daniel Auteuil were rushed off stage by security as audience members tried to figure out what was going on. Scenes of panic ensued as people tried to rush for cover.
Police apprehended a man who was “holding a suspicious device of some sort in his hand,” according to THR, but security personnel at the scene said no one was injured.
It certainly is a strange world out there.
