At least 20 people were killed in Turkey this morning as a result of a massive explosion that occurred ahead of a peace rally in the capital city, Ankara.
According to the Telegraph, initial reports suggest that at least 20 people have been killed and a further 100 wounded after an explosion near Ankara’s main train station.
A peace rally was due to take place in the area later today to protest against the conflict between the state and Kurdish militants in southeast Turkey.
Footage has surfaced of the moment when those attending the rally were caught unaware by the explosion; readers should be warned that it is quite shocking.

Reports from the state-run Anadolu Agency suggest that a suicide bomber may have initiated the blast but no official explanation has yet been arrived at.
An investigation into the incident has been launched by Turkish government officials.
