Some of the scenes are shocking…

Yesterday’s water protests attracted a large crowd to the capital throughout the day and footage has emerged that shows clashes between Gardai and protesters.

There was a lot of anger in the air at times yesterday and that created a hostile atmosphere in some situations which is never nice to see.

It doesn’t need to be said that there is absolutely no excuse for violence at any time from either the protesters or the Gardai.

Footage from O’Connell bridge last night has emerged where Gardaí were attempting to clear the street of protesters to allow traffic to pass safely.

We warn you that there may be some foul language in this clip if you’re watching it in work (which we know of course you aren’t, you’re watching it during a well-deserved break).
