If you think it looks bad while it’s in, wait until you see it coming out.
Picture this: you’re having a lovely relaxing day fishing. Everything is going well and then suddenly, you’ve a hook stuck in your hand.
You can’t simply take the hook out, because it’s in the shape of a U. So what do you do?
You call your brother who insists the correct way to remove a fishing hook is to push it through so that you can snip the barb off.
That’s Waterford native John Croke’s story and here is the graphic video of his brother Gaz removing a fishing hook from his hand.

Thankfully, this graphic story had a happy ending as John is fine now. He also caught the fecker of a fish who caused him so much bother.
