Weather Warning in place as strong winds hit Ireland

A Yellow Weather Warning is in place tonight

Oisin Collins

Batten down the hatches; it’s going to be a windy one tonight…

Don’t shoot the messenger, but it’s going to be fairly manky week where the weather is concerned.

Met Éireann has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for tonight saying: “Southwest to west winds of mean speeds 50-60 km/h will gust 90-105 km/h in many areas during the second half of Monday 30th March.”

You only have to stick your head out the window to see (and hear) what they’re talking about.

As for the rest of the week, it’s not looking good.

Here’s what Met Éireann had to say about tomorrow’s forecast: “Showers becoming widespread on Tuesday morning and turning heavy at times in many areas. Hail will occur also and there will be a risk of thunderstorms, especially further north. West to northwest winds will stay strong throughout the day, with frequent gale gusts up to evening time.”

Wednesday will see things brightening up in the east, but the west and north west will be in for more wet weather.

You can find out the full forecast over on the Met Éireann website.

Finally, we’ll leave you with this graphic representation of Thursday’s weather forecast…
