We won’t lie, the forecast does not look good.
Met Éireann have issued a weather warning for Cork and Kerry, with anything between 25-40mm of rain expected during downpours between Thursday evening and Saturday morning.
The worst rainfall is expected in west Cork and in Kerry, where a weather station recently recorded the highest amount of rainfall in a single day since records began.
Cork and Kerry will likely bear the brunt of the inclement weather but the forecast isn’t great for the rest of the country either.
A cool and breezy day is anticipated on Friday before the rain moves up from the south and extends throughout the country on Saturday morning and afternoon.
It will be wet in most places on Saturday night and Sunday morning with a mixture of bright spells, heavy downpours and longer periods of rain throughout the evening and into Sunday night.
