A weather warning has been issued for six counties

Alan Loughnane

Take note.

A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry.

The warning is valid from 8pm on Wednesday until midnight on Thursday.

The warning was issued by the Met Office who said that strong winds will cause some travel and power supply disruption.

There is a weather advisory in effect in Ireland from Wednesday night with Met Éireann warning of the possibility of further rainfall warnings and potentially some wind warnings as well.

The advisory is in place from 9pm on Wednesday until 9pm on Friday night and warns of unseasonably wet and windy weather.

Strong winds at times may result in unsafe conditions and some disruption, especially over high ground, lakes and sea areas.

There is also a risk of flooding in some areas.

Wednesday will start out wet in the south and southwest but this rain will gradually spread northwards as the day progresses and become patchy.

While it will be warm with top temperatures of between 17 and 21 degrees, another spell of persistent and locally heavy rain will develop in south and southwest coastal areas in the evening and early night.
