Pint?
With thousands of Irish fans headed to France this summer, it’s very likely that the streets of Paris, Bordeaux and Lille will become seas of green. With so much brilliant football on offer during the month, it’s essential for fans to find a relaxing watering hole to watch the games.
We’re confident that Irish supporters can find their own favourite spot, but these places are worth checking out.
L’Inconnu
Location: 17 rue de Mazagran. Near the Strasbourg Saint-Denis Metro stop.
What to expect: A relatively cheap bar in the area, it should prove to be very popular due to its proximity to the the Stade de France. The venue has comfy sofas, soft lighting and cheap beer.

Le Magellan
Location: 12 rue des Goncourt, 11e, Paris. Near the Goncourt Metro stop.
What to expect: A cosy spot where you’ll be able to relax with a pint and some chat. The place also takes pride in having regular darts games, poker tournaments, video game sessions and football matches.

Le Truskel
Location: 12 Rue Feydeau, 75002. Near the ‘Bourse ‘Metro stop.
What to expect: An indie pub/club that has hosted Ian Brown, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, Pete Doherty and many more, they’ve also got a happy hour promotion running most nights. Live sport events are shown on big screen TVs. As the crowds arrive, DJs spark up mostly rock and indie tunes.

Point Ephemere
Location: 200,Quai de valmy, 75010 Paris, France (Canal Saint-Martin). ‘Louis Blanc’ Metro stop.
What to expect: Located near a canal, there’s plenty of opportunity to get some cheap beer or wine at the venue. When you’re inside, there are several seating choices either inside the graffiti-filled venue, or outdoors under the marquee. There’s a Thai kitchen attached to the bar and it’s a good spot for people that love music.

Bugsy’s Bar
Location: 15 Rue Montalivet, Paris, 75008. Near the ‘Madeline’ Metro stop.
What to expect: Perfectly caters for sports fans with plenty of TV screens on the wall, there’s a homely feel to the place with a great selection of beers and pub food. It’s not a typical Parisian bar which makes it stand out from the crowd.

Le play-off
Location: 58 avenue de Wagram 75017 Paris. Near the ‘Ternes’ Metro stop.
What to expect: A cross between an English pub, a steakhouse and an American sports bar, but with an emphasis on getting the basics rights; beer, meat, fries and football.

O’Brien’s
Location: 77 Rue Saint Dominique, 75007.
What to expect: A typical Irish pub in the heart of Paris. Close to the Eiffel tower and the Invalides, the restaurant is open every day from noon till 2am.

The Green Goose
Location: 19 rue des Boulets, 11e. Near the Rue des Boulets Metro stop.
What to expect: Trad musicians and craft beers because this is one of few Irish pubs in Paris with an authentic vibe. The food menu is excellent and if you happen to fancy a little taste of home, this place puts an emphasis on the sourcing the best Irish products and ingredients.
