Eurostar, the high-speed train service, are set to impose an alcohol ban on several trains travelling between London and France during Euro 2016.

LONDON - JULY 30: A Eurostar train is shown at Waterloo Station July 30, 2003 in London, England. Eurostar began passenger operations in November 1994 as a joint venture between the three countries in which it operates - England, France and Belgium. There are currently 27 of the 400-metre-long trains in service, each capable of carrying 766 passengers, which run between Waterloo station, through the Channel Tunnel, and on to the French and Belgian capitals. A Eurostar spokesperson has said: “Throughout the tournament, there are two levels of alcohol restriction: zero alcohol, and limited alcohol.

“These are applied during specific days and time periods, and passengers on affected trains will be notified of the relevant details for their journey in pre-travel emails.”

Scores of Irish fans are likely to travel on the Eurostar from London to France to support Martin O’Neill’s men during the Euros.
