Well said, Jamie.
To a certain degree, words seem meaningless now after Argentina’s incredible 43-20 win against Ireland which saw the Pumas book their place in the World Cup semi-final.
An injury-hit Ireland fought back from a catastrophic first 15 minutes but there was no denying that the best side won.
Jerome Garces might not be the most popular man in Ireland right now but Jamie Heaslip’s post-match analysis of the defeat was articulate, dignified and extremely measured given the disappointing outcome.
I’m convinced that no one is as dejected with the defeat as Ireland’s players and that plenty of thoughts are swirling around in their minds whenever they’re required to give a post-match interview after losing. With that in mind, it’s credit to the Leinster man that he remembered to pay tribute to the amazing support that Ireland had in London ad Cardiff.
Take a look.
If you’re feeling slightly masochistic then here’s the match highlights. Credit to Argentina because they played some great rugby.
