It’s difficult to know if Ireland are playing well, or if Italy are just dire…
It’s not been the easiest Six Nations for Ireland with two losses and a draw all we have to look at after three games.
But thankfully, half way through the fourth game, it looks like we’ll get a win on the board after a good first half performance from the Irish team.
Andrew Trimble opened the scoring with a well taken try after five minutes. The Ulster winger showed some good footwork to go over in the corner.
At half-time Ireland lead by 25 – 3 after a promising opening 40 minutes by the Irish team where they showed a better execution than in previous games including one beautiful score from Jamie Heaslip.
Here’s how the internet reacted to the game so far…

Van der Flier's carrying has been good so far. Really bursts into the contact, change of pace takes defenders by surprise.

Sexton in the wars again. Parisse hits him hard & (the ref says) late. The Irl outhalf dusts himself off & scores the pen. No bother to him

The only way Italy have a chance of winning this is if they call in a favour from Vito Corleone. #IREvITA

This is one of the worst Italian sides I have seen visit Dublin in quite some time and they have had vigorous competition. #IREvITA

Some people were just delighted to see CJ Stander get his try.
Great to see the young boy of the Standerses get his try. I hurled with his grandfather. #IREvITA
