He’s nearly stuck for words here at the start.
James McClean enjoyed his first start of Euro 2016 against Italy and he definitely made the most of his opportunity.
The Derry winger caused his opponents an awful lot of bother throughout the match and eventually reaped the ultimate reward, so when it came to his post-match interview, he was understandably and visibly emotional.
McClean began the interview by barely being able to describe his feelings when prompted by RTÉ reporter Tony O’Donoghue, before giving a pretty funny assessment of his stonewall penalty shout in the first half.
Any Irish fan will enjoy this interview, such is McClean’s clear delight and sheer passion.
James McClean: We did it for "this country, for those fans, for ourselves and our families." https://t.co/y1OKItPBiEhttps://t.co/8burLO1Fgm
