The big one today on the sports pages is news that Rafa Benitez is on his way out of Liverpool.
Minge-face has finally agreed to sling his hook – if Liverpool pay him £3m quid. Very nice of him. Here are some of the headlines:
‘Rafa out – Benitez finally ready to agree Kop exit deal (Inter stand by)’ – The Irish Sun
‘Rafa is Out – Benitez to quit Liverpool with £3m pay-off’ – The Irish Daily Mail
‘Multi-million pound pay-off on table as Reds pave way for Rafa to wave goodbye’– The Irish Independent
Apparently the club has actively discussed giving him the £3m pay-off and if he signs on the dotted line he will be let go with immediate effect.
The Irish Daily Mail has a nice little story on its back page about everyone’s favourate cheating French scumbag, Thierry Henry. Apparently he’s been throwing wobblers at press conferences when quizzed about being forced into a subs role by Nicolas Anelka. Anelka had a nasty bike crash there the other day and was lucky to escape without injury. I wouldn’t be surprised if that cheating low-life Henry disconnected his breaks the night before.
On page 78/79, the paper has a ton of stories about the Championship, mostly centred on Kerry’s new underdog status and Cork’s turn around. ‘Red Kingdom taking over’ is the headline.
The Irish Sun has a nice feature about Celtic on its second-to-last page. They have picked up on the fact that the Bhoys seem to be targeting a number o Irish players. ‘Bhoys Going Green’ is the headline. Daryl Murphy, Liam Lawrence and Paul Green are also believed to be targets.
