We’re looking at a Mark Johnston runner in Haydock this afternoon and a promising Liverpool player to bag the first goal at Anfield tonight in order to click a tidy double.

In-form trainer Mark Johnston sends SECRETIVE back to the track 13 days after his third place finish in Ffos Las. Johnston’s 3-year-old has not set the world on fire but his form is solid in his short racing career to date, in particular over the one mile trip.

The trusty Joe Fanning takes the mount and we expect Secretive to cross the line in front at a price of 9/2 in the fourth race on the card at Haydock today.

In football, Liverpool welcome Macedonia side FC Rabotnicki to Anfield tonight in Roy Hodgson’s first competitive game in charge of the Reds at the famous ground.

It should be a night to remember for Hodgson in this UEFA Europa League Third Round qualifier second leg, as the opposition pose little threat to a landslide win tonight. Liverpool hold a 2-0 advantage from the first leg.

Daniel Pacheco has showed great promise for the Reds at youth level and flirted around the edges of the first team last season. There’s a good chance the Spanish youngster could start tonight and if he does you can mark him down as first goalscorer. A value bet can be had on Pacheco to score first at 4/1.

JOE’s Daily Double: Secretive (Haydock, 3.40 @ 9/2) and Daniel Pacheco to score Liverpool’s first goal at 4/1.
