06/05 At the End of the day

The day is done, what next? Let JOE show you what's on telly tonight at least.

JOE

Hundreds of mourners gathered at the Church of St. John the Baptist in Contarf today to pay their respects at the funeral of Gerry Ryan. Many who attended were listeners of his popular morning chat show who felt a strong connection with the late broadcaster who died last Friday.

Tonight’s Telly:

Pic of the night: Universal Soldier, TV3, 9pm

TV3 have gone for the flick of the night in the form of this sci-fi thriller starring Jean Claude Van Damme.

A government project re-animates dead soldiers to form an expendable combat unit for dangerous missions. However, when two of the squad members have flashbacks of their old life, and realise that they had once killed each other, they continue the conflict from where they left off.

Sporting highlight: Premier League Darts, Sky Sports 3, 7pm

It’s off to Newcastle tonight for live coverage of Premier League Darts. You always wish you are there when you see some clown dancing down to his table with a tray full of pints. But watching it is the next best thing. Let the magic of Phil “the power” Taylor and big Dutch “Barney” Van Barneveld take you away.

Other TV: Anonymous, RTÉ 2, 10.55pm

Funnyman Jason Byrne convinces celebrities to go undercover and play hilarious pranks on unsuspecting members of the public and their friends and family members.

Tonight’s show may be a repeat, but it’s not to be missed.

Live Like JOE….. Sleep well.

You may not think it, but there are so many things that occur in everyday life that can prevent you from getting a good night’s kip.

Stress, anger, worry, lack of exercise, poor eating habits and smoking can all result in not being able to nod off.

It is recommended we get eight hours of uninterrupted sleep per night – but how many of us actually get this much snooze?

When you get home from work you should put the day behind you and go into relaxation mode – this will slow down your brain and help you get a good night’s rest – which is vital for concentration and feeling in top form the following day. Goodnight lads.

Mood Swingometer

Today we’re feeling … suspicious.

Strange things are happening in the JOE office today. Chairs are moving around like Nicolas Anelka’s transfer history, our internet is going bonkers and people are glaring at each other across their desks like wild piranhas. There is also an eerie silence hanging in the atmosphere. Something weird is going to go down very soon, but we don’t know what.

Somebody is up to something, a cheeky bit of mischief shall we say.
