The business end of cricket’s Twenty20 World Cup and racing from Chester take the eye for JOE’s bets on Thursday.

Cricket’s Twenty20 World Cup reaches the business end as the Super 8s start in the West Indies, this afternoon, and England will again be looking to Irishman EOIN MORGAN for inspiration.

Morgan has top-scored for Paul Collingwood’s team in both games so far against the West Indies and his Irish compatriots, so he’s clearly in good heart and 9/2 looks to be too big for him to do so again.

The remainder of England’s batsmen have struggled for top form so far, with none managing more than 20 against Ireland, so Morgan could find himself in the limelight once again today.

That game is scheduled to start at 2pm and a little later, the feature on the second day of the Chester May meeting is the Chester Vase.

Aidan O’Brien’s Rocket Man will be seeking to make it three Vase wins in four years for Ballydoyle after the successes of Golden Sword and Soldier of Fortune.

However, we’re looking to the seven-furlong handicap half an hour later where Mark Johnston’s JARROW. On one line of form he should be shorter than Clive Brittain’s Niran, who’s about half his price today, so 10/1 looks too big.

Like many of Johnston’s horses, Jarrow is a front-runner by trade and has been handed a decent low draw in box four a, so it would be no surprise to see him lead all the way.

JOE’s Daily Double: Eoin Morgan to top-score for England (9/2) & Jarrow (Chester, 3.15 @ 10/1)
