Another two from racing for Wednesday, with the spotlight on Beverley and Hamilton.
The three-year-old middle distance handicap at Beverley has a fairly short-priced favourite in Escape Artist but our preference is for DUBAWI KING.
Nigel Tinkler’s gelding was short of room at a crucial stage at Redcar last time out so could be better than the bare form of that third place finish, while the softer ground should hold no fears for this son of Dubawi.
Later in the day, we’re looking at JEDI in the 8.05 at Hamilton. Jedi won well at Chester last time, shaping as if there is plenty more to come. He was going away at the finish that day and as a half brother to Park Hill winner Hi Calypso, the likely stronger pace in today’s race should suit Micheal Stoute’s gelding.
He has to improve a little on that Chester effort to win this race, but Stoute is masterful with this type of lightly raced improving handicapper and we feel he can make the necessary improvement to collect again tonight.
JOE’s Daily Double: Dubawi King (Beverley, 4.30 @ 5/1) & Jedi (Hamilton, 8.05 @ 9/4)
