Chelsea will make an opening the bid for Fernando Torres with a £30m offer after the World Cup final, reads the Daily Star’s main sports story.

Liverpool paid Atletico Madrid £26.5m for Torres three years ago and look certain to rebuff the Blues’ initial approach. A bid of at least £50m is the likelier figure to require the Spaniards services.
