JOE

Scottish tennis player Andy Murray and a league cup clash form the basis of today’s Daily Double.

Stevenage celebrate their first week as a League club with a Carling Cup home tie against 2008 FA Cup winners Portsmouth. Normally, you’d give a League Two side no chance against a team who has just been relegated from the Premier League.

Yet with Portsmouth in such disarray (they could only name four kids as substitutes against Coventry last weekend), you have to give Stevenage a chance. And the atmosphere at Broadhall Way should be electric.

We still don’t think Stevenage will win, however, though we wouldn’t rule out them making it difficult for Pompey, and might even give them a scare.

Stevenage to be leading at half-time and Portsmouth to be leading at full-time is available at 8/1.

Meanwhile in tennis, Scotland’s Andy Murray and England’s Ross Hutchins take on Germany’s Philip Kohlschreiber and France’s Gael Monfils in the Men’s Doubles in the Rogers Cup in Canada.

Murray is world number 4 while his partner Ross Hutchins is 559, though he is known more as a doubles player. Their opponents are world number 36 and number 18 respectively, though they are ranked much lower in doubles. The match should be close though we are backing Murray’s team at 4/6.
