Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea. An 8-0 drumming of Wigan on the final day of the Premier League season put the icing on the cake for Carlo Ancelotti yesterday and all the back pages heap praise on the London club.

‘Chelsea win it by a Landslide’ reads the The Sun and how true it was, as Chelsea finished the season with 103 Premier League goals. One point is all they had to spare on rivals Manchester United, who hit four goals against Stoke yesterday, as captain John Terry ended a tumultuous season with a smile on his face.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has told England boss Fabio Capello that striker Wayne Rooney will be fit for the World Cup, according to The Daily Star. Rooney hobbled off the field on the final day of the Premier League season with a recurrence of a groin strain but the United manager has ensured Capello that it is not a major concern.
