‘Muuuum, it’s GOT to be my turn now! Gorilla hogs games console from her baby’
This is exactly why the Daily Mail is the most fun read every single morning at JOE – simian-related videogames articles. Yesterday at San Francisco Zoo a visitor unfortunately dropped their Nintendo DS console into the gorilla habitat. Even worse, it was a red DSi model, the most advanced on the market – so there was no hope of getting it back if the gorillas got their opposable thumbs on it, which is exactly what happened.
In the article pictures, the mother gorilla is seen instantly recognising how to hold the handheld console correctly, though struggling to turn the console on (it’s the right-hand side button Mrs Gorilla but nevermind). Despite the urges of her baby gorilla to have a go, the mother lifts the DSi out of its hands and attempts to immerse itself once more in handheld experience.
In the end, the kid who dropped the console into the enclosure got his console back after the gorilla’s trainer successfully traded the DS for an apple – hardly a fair deal if you ask us. Here’s a short video of the madness.
