Tuesday’s televised sport is dominated by women’s and beach soccer. Let’s stick to racing with a quickfire early evening double.
First up, we’ll take a look at the three-year-old handicap at Killarney at 6.40, where SCOTTISH REEL is the fancy.
Aidan O’Brien’s colt is exceptionally well bred, by Sadlers Wells out of the Group 1-winning Darshaan mare Necklace. Second in decent maidens at Navan and Leopardstown, he disappointed slightly when dropped in trip last time out, but he should find his level handicap company today with the trainer’s son Joseph taking off seven pounds.
Immediately after that, switch over to At The Races for the opening race from Musselburgh where Ed Vaughan’s RANSOM REQUEST is worth a chance.
The Red Ransom colt finished in midfield on his debut in a Newbury maiden but was denied a clear run at a vital stage on that occasion and could be better than the bare form suggests, which would make him difficult to beat in a six-runner auction maiden at Musselburgh.
JOE’s Daily Double: Scottish Reel (Killarney, 6.40 @ 2/1) & Ransom Request (Musselburgh, 6.50 @ 5/1)
