It has been a crazy weekend in sport for JOE. The front and back pages are awash with stories from codes of all sorts.
The Indo gives Kerry a prominent splash on the front page with Kieren Donaghy in a rather erotic embrace, just like this one above, after the Kingdom defeated Cork in the Munster SFC semi-final replay after extra-time.
In World Cup news we have been intrigued by Argentina head coach Diego Maradona’s continuation of radical comments. First it was criticising the talent of Lionel Messi, then it was ironically calling for fai play and now the diminutive legend has laid his life on the line for his players, literally!
Maradona has been quoted as saying he would die for his players. “I am ready to die for those 23 men, for what they give me in training, for the conversations we have, for their heart, for their feeling for the shirt, for the fact they know how the people of Argentina feel.â€
